Ed Sheeran postpones his Las Vegas concert at Allegiant Stadium until late October.

Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran canceled his Las Vegas show at Allegiant Stadium Saturday less than an hour before the show was scheduled to begin, according to a statement the artist made on Instagram.

Sheeran posted on Instagram around 5:30 p.m., stating, “I can’t believe I’m typing this, but there have been some challenges encountered during the load in for our Las Vegas performance. It is impossible to continue the performance. I’m truly apologetic. I am aware that everyone has traveled for this event, and I wish I could cancel it.”

Following the announcement, fans expressed disappointment, but they told 8 News Now that they understood the situation was out of the artist’s control.

“We love him, it’s not his fault, and we’re not too far away, so we’ll be back, but we’re so sad,” said 21-year-old Emma White, who traveled with her family from Salt Lake City to attend the concert.

The concert has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 28, and all previously purchased tickets are valid for the new date.

“We planned our day around our arrival here tonight. Therefore, we haven’t done certain things because we knew we’d be here tonight, which is a bit irritating,” said Steven Mason. He traveled from England to attend the concert with his fiancée Elisha for his birthday. They will not return for the October concert that was postponed.”

Around 5 p.m., Allegiant Stadium announced on X that the doors for the concert would be “significantly delayed,” and that the new opening time would be 5:30 p.m.

According to the Clark County Fire Department, numerous people with heat-related issues were treated and released from Allegiant Stadium. One individual was transported to a nearby hospital for heat-related complications.
